The crisis of crisis will usher in the “poorest” new member states!

According to reports, the European Commission and the European Central Bank (ECB) this week launched a green light for Croatia in 2023. This is the first expansion of the euro zone since Lithuania joined Lithuania in 2015. The euro zone will welcome its 20th member of its 20th member Croatia will become the poorest economy in the euro zone.

As soon as the news came out, it immediately attracted doubts from all walks of life: due to the Russian and Ukraine War, the euro zone is currently facing a historical high level of inflation, and the European Commission and most institutions have lowered their expectations for the prospects of the European economy. When the euro area is facing a crisis, the economic level of Croatia is far lower than the EU’s average country to join the euro zone. The prospect of the euro zone is very concerned.

Croatia has about 4 million residents. According to the EU Statistical Bureau, the per capita GDP is 13,400 euros (far lower than the average level of 30,000 euros of the euro zone), and its economy mainly depends on tourism. The European Union believes that Croatia’s economy is very small. After joining, it has undergone multiple censorship, and its economic situation will not constitute risks to the euro zone.
