The average European new energy vehicle is 54,000 euros per car! More than half more expensive than traditional models!

According to the “Global Electric Vehicle Outlook of 2022″ released by the International Energy Agency (IEA) on Monday, 6.6 million new energy vehicles (100% battery driver or plug -in hybrid vehicle) sold in 2021 were sold in 2021. Their global average price is 50%more expensive than traditional gasoline power cars. But not the price of new energy vehicles in all countries is higher than traditional models. The price difference between Chinese new energy vehicles and traditional cars is only 10%. This is because China is the world’s largest battery manufacturer.

Excluding China’s price information, the average price of global electric vehicles in 2021 was slightly lower than 47,000 euros, an increase of 3%over 2020, while the average price of plug -in hybrid vehicles exceeded 53,000 euros, an increase of 4%. In Europe, the average price of electric vehicles and plug -in hybrid vehicles is 45,000 and 54,000 euros, respectively. Compared with traditional cars, the average price of new energy vehicles is still very expensive.

The price of new energy vehicles in the future is uncertain, because the International Energy Agency pointed out that some basic elements of the production of batteries (cobalt, nickel, especially lithium, today’s value is seven times a year ago). The price of batteries used in new energy vehicles rose 15%, which will also lead to the growth of final product prices.
