The third and final phase of the Kit Digital grant is reportedly already underway. The subsidy can be applied for by phone from Oct 20 and is valid for one year. According to the National statistics office (INE), about 2.8 million self-employed people with up to three employees in a company can apply for €2,000 help. The third phase of the grant is 500 million euros, so about 250,000 companies, or about 9 percent of the total, will be able to apply for it on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kit Digital has received about 70,000 applications for its first grant phase and has allocated more than 35,000 grants with a maximum of €12,000 each, according to Red.es, Kit Digital’s governing body. A total of 33,400 applications were registered for the second phase of the grant, each with a maximum subsidy of €6,000.
The government decided to extend the first phase of the subsidy until March next year and is currently working on the third phase of Kit Digital. Any self-employed or small business with 0 to 49 employees is likely to benefit.
